820-00850 (A1989) - Booting successfull - Left USB-C ports issue

Hi,

I have here an A1989 where the left USB-C ports are not recogizing any peripherals - charging is working - right side no issues.

Could it be that the THB IC is damaged or corroded? (Should I reflow the IC?)

Note: The MacBook was water damaged in that area, (U3200 was bad)

Left side USB devices are powered from L3500.
Do you get voltage there?
Test connecting an USB device, of course.

No voltage on L3500 (P5VUSBC_X_LL / P5VUSBC_X_R) - USB device is plugged in.
5.2V on LB700 (P5VUSBC_T_LL / P5VUSBC_T_R) - USB device is plugged in.

Note: U3500 is getting 5.2V on PP5V_USBC_X_VCC, so maybe U3500 is bad?

LB700 is for right USB ports!
Did you check L3500 connecting an USB device on left side!

These chips fail a lot.
U3500 gets 5V on both 19 & 20 pins?

You can inject voltage to find the culprit.
Should be one of the filter caps, near R3530; if you already removed both U3100/200.
