820-00923 was liquid damaged and had a shorted cap on ppbus that i replaced. laptop turns on but does not recognize the battery. have tried new battery still same issue.

Check voltage and diode mode to ground on SCL/SDA lines of battery bus.

I don't have an oscilloscope but it looks like its pulsing at 3.4v
diode mode is
2-.437
3- 1.3
diode mode is
2-.437
3- 1.3
Check both lines with red probe connected to ground.

Looks like bad solder on SDA line.
Do you get 3.3V on both lines?
Remove D6950, just in case; shouldn't be the problem.
U7000/800 and SMC are the suspects there.
BTW, 1.3 in diode mode with red probe connected to ground, still looks very strange.
Should be lower than 1.0 if at least one chip is properly soldered in that line.

removed d6950 and completely lost connection to pin 3 on the port. ran a trace to j6951, replaced d6950 and now all is working. looks like a loose connection. thanks for the help
