820-00928 No Recognizing SSD

So I have an 820-00928 that is not recognizing the SSD. The customer states they were just working and it stopped working. The computer turns on but has a flashing ? folder. I took out the board and do not see any signs of corrosion or broken probe points. Any Ideas where to look?

First, be sure J9600 metal plate is in place and makes good contacts.
Boot USB macOS and check if SSD is at least detected in Disk Uyility.

You can also check all the power rails related with SSD.

Ok, Cover on J9600 is in place and the screws are tight and when I boot to external, disk utility does not see the internal SSD. Will have to figure out what SSD rails to check.

Spent 30 min going through every voltage on that page, checked every capacitor, resistor and trace. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

So there can be internal problem with NAND chips; or something else connected together; SSD controller, CPU...

Very risky to reflow/reball these underfilled chips.
You should say to the client before heat again the chips; board can get dead completely.

Thank you for your reply. I ended up giving back to client as is was not worth the risk. They said they will send to Apple. Appreciate the help
