820-01521 macbook air 2018 Doesn't go to sleep when lid closed.

This is not a liquid dmaged or any damaged board.
Works fine but only issue is it doesnt go to sleep when lid close.
Sleep wake up works normal way but not with lid closed.

Any idea?

Check lid signals coming from Hall sensors.

Hi 2info this model doesnt have hall sensors. However, there are 2 Lid signals . SMC_LID_LEFT and SMC_LID_RIGHT both are connected to U4850.
Both get 1.5v and firt i thought its wrong. I checked with working board and its same voltage. Anyhow LID_RIGHT cmmunicating with J6100. this could be that singal coming from IO board. is this correct?

Really, how do you think lid signals are controlled???
Hall sensors are not placed on MLB, like older boards.

1.5V is good level, as both signals are pulled-up to PP1V8_SLPS2R.
IPD_LID_OPEN must have the same level.

Try an USB macOS and check if the problem persist.
You can try first PRAM reset 2-3 times, just in case.

Hi, 2info, My Apologies. Found right sensor on audio board. Audio board was liquid damaged. replaced the audio board. Solved. Hope this will help to other technicians. Thank you very much for your support.
