Hi all

I started working on a 820-01521 with no power, it is stuck at 5v there are no signs of liquid what so ever.

there was no PPBUS_G3H.
pp3v3_g3h is ok and a few others.

I noticed that one of the cd3215's has no 1v1 present when connected to USB. I replaced that chip and now the seem to work (so far)
still the board wont power, but PPBUS is now OK (12v) (from both usb)
usb port1and 2: 5v cycling/ramping between 20mA ~ 120mA
both CD3215 have 1v1 present when usb connected to that port
PP3V3_UPC_XA_LDO: 3v3 (OK)
PP1V8_UPC_XA_LDOD: 1v8 (OK)
PP1V8_UPC_XA_LDOA: 1v8 (OK)

Since this board is quite a bit different from others I checked all the rails from the PSU page in the sch:
any clues are welcome

"PPVIN_G3H_P5VG3S: 12v3 (OK)"
This is NOK.
Stay away of wrong assumptions!

Do you get all these voltages on all USB-C ports?
Any USB-C port is cycling now?
If all good, then try DFU restore; full info posted on the forum...

Both ports behave the same voltage and current wise (both generate the same voltages on the board)

When i plug in the macbook into another macbook with an the Apple charge cable it shows up directly as DFU device (not using the procedure). tried reviving but progress gets stuck at step:4 installing. after a while it times-out. (after debate with the customer, definitely bye bye data) I tried restore. unfortunately it gave the same result.
(also tried the DFU procedure, the DFU device briefly disappears and returns when holding the buttons)

"Gave up waiting for device to transition from DFU state to DFU state. [com.apple.MobileDevice.MobileRestore – 0xFA5 (4005)]"

is there anything else I could check

Some people complained about type of cable connection.
Sometime got it after many tries.
You should read all the threads you can find about DFU restore and collect information.
