I have a macbook 820-01598 which has 20v but black screen and without gong. DHU passes without error but still nothing displayed. Trackpad vibrates, capslock does not light up. I found a low resistance on L 7670 - PP5V_G3S 6ohm. Can I perform a short circuit test ?
Strange situation. R7744 was getting hot. I removed it. The short circuit was still present. Later, U7710 started to heat up, so I removed it and again the short circuit did not stop. Now the U8110 is heating up. Should I remove it ? This is the first time I have this situation.
You have 2.2 ohm resistors in series with U7710 and U8110.
Comparing resistance to ground (ohm scale) on both sides of these resistors can tell you where is the short coming from.
Seems that overvoltage occured on the 5V_G3S power rail and affected more circuits.
Backlighting is missing.
Unfortunately I have no known good lcd.
PP5V_S0SW_LCD 1.4V
PP3V3_S0SW_LCD 3V3
DP_INT_HPD 3.3V
Q8400
1- 0v
3- 12.5v
4- 12.6v
Diodemode D840 (red probe to ground)
pin1: 0.88
pin2: 1.2
I replaced the u8500 and have 5v but still no backlight.
Now the diode test is the same with and without LCD.
PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT - 0v
Can I connect LCD with a1708 ?
