Hello everyone !

First post here :p so i have a 820-01700-05 with cd3217, water damage near JB500, U9080, U9000, UB300, UB400 and around all this composants.
Change UB300/400 with cd3217 from aliexpress...
When i plug the charger, 5v 0.249a on all usb-c ports without battery plug, and 20v 0.00a with battery plug.

PPBUS_G3H - 12.39v

PP5V_G3S no present
PMU_VDDMAIN_EN no present ( normal ? )
P3V3G3H_VFB_R 0.98V ( normal ? EDIT : Yes, tested on another board )

rails present :

CHGR_EN_MVR
PP3V3_G3H_RTC
PP3V3_G3H_T
PP1V8_SLPS2R
PP1V8_AWAKE
PP1V8_SLPS2R_PMUVDDGPIO
PP1V1_SLPS2R
PP0V8_SLPS2R
PP0V82_SLPS2R
PP3V3_AWAKE
PPVDDCPUSRAM_AWAKE
PP0V9_SLPDDR
P1V1_SLPDDR_SOCFET_EN
PP1V1_SLPDDR
PP1V2_AWAKE
PPVDDCPU_AWAKE
PMU_COLD_RESET_L
PMU_SYS_ALIVE
PMU_ACTIVE_READY

I assume that if i have 20v with battery, all cd3217 are good ?

Thanks for your help !

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Check voltage and diode mode to ground on LDO rails from all CD3217 chips.
Post diode mode to ground at L9020/30/80.

If all AWAKE and SLPS2R voltages are present, you can try to enter DFU mode.

Thanks for help :)

LDO rails :

PP3V3 0.480/0.500 3.38v on all chips
PP1V5 0.480/0.500 1.59v on all chips

L9020 0.363
30 0.358
80 0.118 ( low i think :/ )

also i found that P3V3MAIN_PGOOD not present

I go try dfu mode

EDIT : impossible to go on DFU

"When i plug the charger, 5v 0.249a on all usb-c ports without battery plug"
This is high too much.
Do you note any chip heating abnormal (maybe T2)?
An IR cam can help in this case.

I cannot confirm L9020/30/80 readings, as no similar board available.
If you don't get voltages there, T2 cannot access its partition.

Failing to enter into DFU, should be T2, or SSD problem.

Ok i go look for heating tuesday cause my IR cam is at work, meanwhile i go test voltages of SSD.
thanks a lot for your time and see you on tuesday :)

EDIT: no voltages at all on L9020/30/80

So sorry, i just have retry DFU mode, and its recognized ( this system is so creepy...) i try revive and tell you

Liquid spill on U9000/80 probably damaged NAND chips.
As you don't have real short on the coil, you can stil resolder that area and rebuild traces, inspect surrounding components.
Should be good to resolder U9000/80.

I already try this this morning, change u9000/80, clean and resolder all this area, check all resistor in this area too, same problem :/ If I understood correctly, I should normally have voltage on the nand, and from what I saw on the schematics, u9000 communicates by SCL/SDA with T2, so I deduce that T2 activates u9000 right ?

The big damage can come through U9080, as this one is powered from PPBUS_G3H.
Both chips require SSD1_VR_P2V5_EN signal, apart of power rails.

Can i try to change it or this shit are serialized ? I have same NAND from iphone 8/X and programmer, maybe... or not ?

Thanks a lot for all your time, I go try next week or this week if i have time at work to remove NANDS and look if I have new results :)

sorry for the late reply, unfortunately the customer wanted to get the mac back and I didn't have time to test, but in my opinion it won't work, the programmers I have are all designed for iPhone partitions :/
