820-01700 no power

No signs of water damage or corrosion. It came in with a no-boot issue.

Some strange behaviour is all ports drawing 5v 28mA. However, when I plug the master USB port into another laptop to check if it is stuck at DFU, another port that I try to power the laptop starts drawing 20V, 0.0A. I am not sure if this is the sign of something.

Further investigation revealed a short on PP1V8_SSD0 as measured at C9132. Resistance to the ground is 1 ohm. Is it what I am afraid of ? (Dead NAND) ? Or could it be a short elsewhere ? Same capacitor on the other NAND is not shorted.

I appreciate it if you let me know if there is anything else I can check.

Only 1V8 SSD rail shorted to ground?
2V5 rail is OK?

Wit 1 ohm resistance, you can use voltage injection method, to find the culprit.

1V8 and 2V5 was both shorted to ground, injected 1V to 1V8 rail and thermal camera was only showing head at the NANDs.
I suppose there is not much we can do about it ?
