820-02016 - 5.2V - 0,05A

Hey guys,

got something strange here. Customer told me, he changed the screen, then not working anymore?!

Board looks fine / no visible damage.

One CD3217 taking aroung 0,2A, should be working.

When i plug into the other port, 0,05A. When i connect to the same port, but flipped board, the amp-meter stays off / not taking any charge... (see pictures)

When i plug in to the working CD3217, PPBUS_AON = 12,03V.


Whats going on here?

update: PPBUS_AON 1.5V - 1V not stable when i plug with usb-c-meter not displaying anything.

Compare diode mode readings on the CC1/2 lines.

they are the same. 0.595

Compare readings between both ports on the USB-C terminals.
Try another USB-C ports flex.

tried another flex. same issue.

CC1/2 diode mode readings same.

i noticed when i plug into the working port, the chip is getting around 40degrees celsius. (left area)

when i plug into the not function port, the chip is getting around 60degrees celsius. (left area)

is it the chip?

when i plug into the not working port, when usbc meter is not showing anything, i get 3.2V on USB1_CC2

edit: when i plug into the not working port with amp meter showing something, pp5v_S2 is 3.3v.

area getting hot is pp5v_s2

Did you change the chip from non-working port?

no. boad is right now untouched.
