820-2879 hangs at pinwheel

Grading folks,

This one is doing me in. History LD. Attempting to boot to OSx results in a hanging pinwheel. ASD EFI hangs at "loading video controller devices" yet ASD OS loads without issue. I'm using an external keyboard and mouse so palm rest sensor trips, all other sensors are happy. I'm getting an error,-60 "video controller test failed" for h.264 decoding performance test." All other video tests are are passing.

mem module swap produced no change in asd efi & osx hanging nor the failure of said ASD OS video controller test.

To be honest I don't know how to proceed at this point or whether I even should.

You must use PC8500 RAM.

Gave it another shot with different 8500. Hit and miss access to osx. Mostly miss. still unable to access EFI. Seems deeper than bad/wrong modules? Where can I head to as this juncture?

You booting from USB? Could be HDD cable.

Bad HDD cable or bad RAM slot else this board is junk. I assume you already disconnected airport cable.
