Hi guys,

Got macbook with liquid damage in battery conector area. Cleaned it, changed some componentes and now it starts and work all ok except of battery. Not chargin it.

Checked U7200 and 27/28 pins have 20 ohms but 17/18 is going to millions ohms. Already changed u7200 with no result.

PPBUS ( with only magsafe conecting is 14V than going down untill 2.8V and again 14V and all time like this. When the battery is connected 13.65V stable.

3V42 is present but a little high ( 4V).

My bet is that SMC is bad, but want to ask before changing that shit.

Does it recognize the battery just not charge it? If so, your problem is pins 17/18 NOT the SMC!!!! One of the following is true:

1. R7051/2 is blown or both.
2. R7050 is blown (less likely, but possible)
3. The traces between the ISL and R7051/2 are blown or between R7051/2 and R7050.

Also why did you change U7200? Was it liquid damaged?

Sorry, i mean U7000 not U7200. It was liquid damage that area.

R7051/52 are ok with continuity, R7050 too.

So your problem is pins 17/18 is it 2.9 ohms or millions still? If all check good, then your problem is the ISL it seems.

So one of the few has to be true above there is no way all the resistors are ok and the traces. That's literally not possible unless you're measuring the wrong spot.

You've been asked about resistance between pins, not to ground; 17-18 and 27-28, in ohm scale.
Confirm if did that.

Disconnect battery, use only original Magsafe 1 60/85W charger.
Post voltage for U7000, pins 2, 3, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17/18, 19, 20, 27/28.

Yes, it is between pins not to ground. Between 27/28 23ohms and between 17/18 7Mohms

Pin:

2 - 20V
3 - 4.8V
9/12/13/14 - 4.1V
15 - 0.06V
17/18 - 14V than down until 2.5V and become again 14 Volts. And same cycle all time
19/20 - 6.1 V
27/28 - 20V and like 17/18 going down until 6V and than 20V again.

Almost all rails that seems to be stable have some variations 0,3V up down constantly.

Something strange is happening. PPDCIN_G3H_INRUSH is going up to 36 V when magsafe is connected and i connect the battery without booting logic board. :S Q7080 recieves 20V and gies 36V. IS that the problem?

Did you try other multimeter?

Why you do NOT do what we ask to do???
Solve R7051/52 issue!!!
If resistors are OK, then rebuild corroded traces...

If you cannot do what we say, then we cannot help you....between pins 17/18 you should have 3.9 ohms of resistance. If R7051/2 measure 2.2 and 0 and R7050 measure 0, then you have a break in the line find it....

Sorry, you both were right. It was trace between R7051 PIN 2 and R7050 Pin 3. Now i have 3ohms on 17/18, but still not charging battery.

Solved. Changins ISL. Seems it was burning every time i put new one while there was damaged trace. Thank you very much:)
