I have strange problem with audio jack. When I start the machine headphones work. If I unplug and replug them, they stop working. If I restart the machine they work again. Speakers work normally. Audio codec? REF line? Please advice how to proceed.
When I first start OSX, headphones work and is detected in audio device properties.
If I disconnect and reconnect them, they are no longer detected in audio properties.
If I restart the machine while the headphones are plugged-in they will work again. And I can reproduce it every time. Not a random issue. Strange right?
"Headphones detected after close/open lid."
I was expecting to check when headphones not available.
See if can recover without shuting down the machine; clos/open lid only.
"Q6801-03 - 4.3V"
3 transistors, with 3 and 6 pins; what should I understand???
Sorry if I was confusing.
"Headphones detected after close/open lid." - In OS I plug in headphones and they are NOT detected. I close and open lid and they are suddenly detected.
All e transistors react when I plug in headphones.
Q6800 pin 3 voltage drop from 2.37V to 0V
Q6801 pin 3 voltage drop from 4.32V to 0V
Q6802 pin 3 voltage drop from 4.45V to 4.16V
When headphones not detected, there is still sound on internal speakers?
The f***g detection circuit can make you get crazy.
If headphones recovered after close/open lid, I will not waste more time.
Unless you have free time now, with the f***g crisis...
Yes, when headphones not detected there is still sound on internal speakers.
Looks like its a big pain in the ass. I will figure out another solution for this client.
Thanks for your help!
I know this thread is exactly 2 years ago, I came across the same exact symptom.
It turned out being a broken trace on AUD_IPHS_SWITCH_EN between a test pad and U2152.
The test pad is next to R6880-1 / U6880-3 (under the annoying foam).
U2152 doesn't show up on boardview but it's the same on 820-3215 (U2652).
Probably other issues may cause the same symptom but I thought it may be helpful for someone.
