820-2915-B No fan after battery replacement

Hi,

Clients battery expanded and I replaced it. Booted, unit was waking from hibernation but was stuck, force powered it down and it wont come up since. No chime no fan.
Client had 3rd party charger. Board looks fine - cant see any cracks/burns.
Charger goes from green to orange with battery plugged in

I took a few voltages, with no battery connected:

PPBUS_G3H - 12.45V
PP5V_S5 - 4.99V
P3V3S5_LL - 3.28V
P5VS3_PGOOD - 0V
S5_PWRGD - 3.13V
PM_BATLOW_L - 0V
PM_RSMRST_L - 0.02V
PM_PWRBTN_L - 3.41 V
SMC_ONOFF_L - 3.42V

Not sure if those are helpful

I have a little experience diagnosing those

Be sure to use original Magsafe 1 85W charger.

Of course disconnect the battery when you test the machine.
No need to connect it, untill get the machine working on charger alone.

Ok, got the charger
Unfortunately PM_BATLOW_L still at 0v

You could have a SMC issue.
Crappy battery can kill it...

Try to start in SMC bypass mode.

Does it charge the battery at least?
You should try other SMC drom donor board.

I dont think I have this SMC, I guess I will just get another board :/ Shame

Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L.

Does it start with both charger and battery connected?

PM_PWRBTN_L drops from 3.41v to 0.14v.
I only have multimeter I hope thats ok

Then SMC send the power button information to PCH.
But this cannot respond if PM_BATLOW_L stays low.
So try another SMC.
