820-3115 alain, weird issue, no power on with charger but will run off charger

green light, fan spin, no chime with charger plugged in,
no charger, running off battery, boot with folder icon
plug in charger, disconnect battery, folder icon remains
after running for 5 mins weird smell
no apparant corrosion

scratching my head, checked one wire, seems ok checked d6990 and u6990, seems ok

Got green light, does it charge? PPBUS present on charger? Check for heat if something smells funny.

I only have 80w chargers in my office
something strange,without the battery plugged in the voltage out of the battery connector is 3v something,
when the battery is plugged in it starts charging 11.5v going up past 12.06
orange light is on

The battery connector is not PPBUS, need PPBUS......You sure it is not a Chinese shit charger?

geniune charger, again, I only have genuine chargers
ok starting with the battery plugged in first and then plugging in the charger to turn it on

Did you check the basics around U7000? Resistance between pins 17/18 27/28 etc.?

17-18 is 3.2 ohms = r7051 2.4, r7052 0.3
27-28 is 20.4 ohms

Only thing I can think of now is crap under the SMC.

ive reflowed the smc and now i get a fan spin, no chime, no green light, turns off using power button, wont turn on using power button, only cable in, i thought this was one of the models that didnt turn on then the charger was plugged in, turns off after like 30 seconds of being plugged in

So SMC got messed up, probably still glue under it. Pull and reball or replace.
