You didn't tell us if it has image...
USB mouse works at least?
Do you get voltage at pins 18/19 of J9000?
Also check LCD_BKLT_EN and BKLT_PLT_RST_L.

Checked the fuse at least?

replaced Screen at the beginning which was a waste of time. should've checked the Voltage first.

MBA fully functional on external display.
Yes there is DATA (Dark Image)

Fuse> assuming you are talking about F9700 (8.4V Both sides)

i'll check J9000 (P18/19)

If you get image means display is correctly recognized, so there is voltage; no need to check it.
Check above mentioned signals.

No way both of them are low or the system wouldn't even boot. Check them with an LCD connected of course.

Board was picked by customer (He says the Genius Bar told him they would look at it) loool, made me laugh i packed his laptop in a heartbeat. we'll see when he comes back.,
