Crap forgot to post that. I tested it next to another 3435 they sent in for no backlight and every single pin was within .001 or .002 of each other, so I think traces were fine. I also tested them for continuity with the chip off just to give myself peace of mind that I wasn't getting a wrong reading with the chip on. So yeah, everything else was normal and even a test chip didn't fix it :/
