I have an another 820-3437 with no backlight, but I have 40V one side of D7701 and 8.5V on the other. does this mean it is not seeing the screen??

tried another assembly still no backlight
40v means it is not seeing the screen. I bet the connector is bad, OR, the voltage is not making its way to the connector.
You should see 25-27v on a working air backlight circuit at the end.
You see 40v at D7701, but what do you see right on pins 3 and 4 of the LCD connector?
If you have 40v at pins 3/4 of the LCD connector, the connector is probably broken internally and not sending that to the screen.
