yes. i tried with just file. everything was working except long startup time, then same with serial number change.
Still long time to boot with battery connected?

Reset PRAM 3 times (3 complete bong, flash, power off , restart cycles), that is keep P & R & Option and CMD pressed the whole time without taking your fingers off - obviously you also need to press power on button once with spare finger. Wait until you hear the 3rd 'bong' and also that the screen flashes as it resets then release all fingers. It should then start normally.
