I have an 820-3536a that turns on now. but has an x through the battery and says "no battery detected" if i unplug the charger with the computer on, the screen goes black but the fan continues to spin until the battery is disconnected. In diode mode i get .316 on pin 1 of R5380 and R5381. R5380 gives me 2k ohms and R5381 gives me 1.65k ohms

Are you getting 3.42V on SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL & SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA ?

Not a huge amount to check here.
Bad U7100, Battery or SMC.

Also check current sense pairs
R7151 & R7152,
R7121 & R7122

Whats history of board ? liquid ?

I get 1.5 mv on SCL, SDA jumps around a lot. 2.5 ohms on R7151 .4 ohms on R7152 10 ohms on R7121 10 ohms on 7122, the board looks absolutely fine, no evidence of liquid anywhere

Something is bring those data lines down.

check D7050 for corrosion. Other than that disconnect battery, see if data lines get back to 3V.

Probably bad SMC, but these don't usually go bad by themselves.

U7100... Also, Does this have liquid damage? I get stuff all the time in my shop that has no liquid and the ISL is bad.

then you fucked something up changing the isl as it was working before this. double check your work and make sure you did not move anything out of where it should be, this happens a lot. back track all your work you have done since this issue has come up and make sure everything is in place. also did you placed the isl in the proper position?
