820-4924 Green light but no orange light and no S5 rails

Clean board, green light but no orange light and no S5 rails.

History fault, any sign of liquid, or dropped?

You must get orange light even without battery; check that.
Be sure to use original Magsafe 2 (two) charger 60/85W.

Post exact PPBUS_G3H and 3V42 voltages.
Check SMC_PM_G2_EN and post basic voltages for U7501.

No liquid clean board, no drops. Green light seem to come on sometimes, now with good know charger not green or orange light at all.

PP3V42 3.426v

SMC_PM_G2_EN 0v ​

U7501 Vin Pin 23 12.27 Enable Pins 4,21,12 all are 0v​

PPBUS is too low should be 12.56. Corrosion near or under it? SMC_RESET_L voltage?

Thanks, I just learned that ppbus should be 12.56, there is no corrosion on this board, looks clean,

Reflow the SMC. If no change, likely bad SMC or bad ISL6259. My guess is crap under SMC causing issue and reflow will fix it, but hard to say.

That was the first thing I did before posting here, but no luck, I will try again one more time and post back.

Reflow is wasting time now.
Reball SMC and change it, if no luck.

Ok SMC had some concentrated corrosion on pin 117 so bad that the pad was gone from both the board and the chip, reballing my first SMC went perfect, first try and all went well, I ran a wire to the pad on the board and solder the SMC again, but same problem.

I have a 820-3476 will the SMC from that board work on this 820-4924?

Any recommendation on where to get donor boards that may have good SMC chips?
