A1297 820-2914-B won't shutdown

Hi,

I have an A1297 820-2914-B that had a bad GPU and so I disabled it, and removed R8911. Now it has display with the intel graphics.

However, the mac, when on battery only, keeps rebooting when we send it to shutdown. Even unplugin the charger, makes the mac to power on.

Can you help?

Did you disable it in BIOS, or flashing GMUX?
Does it turn off correctly with charger alone, or charger and battery both connected?

Hi, I disabled it in BIOS (medusa).
With charger connected (alone or with the battery), it works normally. However, after I shut it down (with battery and charger connected), when I disconnect the charger, it powers on by it self.

If you work on battery alone and shut it down, will restart instead?

Had this behavior before touching BIOS?

Resolder R8911 and do PRAM reset.
Check if turns off correctly with GPU enabled.

I didn´t cheked it before touching BIOS. However, after restoring GPU (with R8911), it has the same behavier.

I've already tried with a known good battery, but had the same result.

Check if PCH's RTC signals are correct and stable.
