Hello
I have this board that won't turn on. No led when I connect neither orange nor green. yesterday it did not turn on but at least the orange led appeared today no led
where can i start measuring?
Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse (3-0-3) at PM_PWRBTN_L (at same time).
If detected, check for pulse at PM_SLP_S4_L too.
Use R5115/16 pads, instead of power button.
i tried to activate smc_onoff and on pm_pwrbtn_l the voltage drops to 0.34 when active. Unfortunately I didn't quite understand how to do it on r5115/16
I hope this "How to" collection will help our members. I will possibly modify this post in time, if updates available. Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L (PMU_ONOFF_L): It reffers to simulate power button function, when the keyboard is not connected. We need to do this when we work with the board...
I'm not sure what you've mean.
You've asked to use these pads instead of power button, not to check voltage (nor diode mode) there.
More strange to get different readings.
Are not pads 1 of R5115/16 connected together (SMC_ONOFF_L)?
So, use these pads to simulate power button amd check reaction on the above mentioned signals.
OK, if catch drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L.
Now remains to check for pulse at PM_SLP_S4_L; at sime time when triggering SMC_ONOFF_L.
sorry 2informaticos I mistranslated
i made this bridge and on pm_pwrbtn_l i have 0.346
pp_slp_s4_L i have 0
smc_onoff_L i have 0
I hope I understood correctly how to measure
thanks for your patience
"i made this bridge"
Pay atention when you read.
"Is very easy to solder a tiny wire on the pad corresponding to the signal; just touch any metal plate with it, when you want to simulate power button. Just a temporar contact, of course."
I hope this time I did the right thing
PM_SLP_S4_L 3.320 when I touch metal plate 3.320
SMC_ONOFF_L 3.397 when I touch metal plate 0.005
I really hope I did well
Do you mean PM_SLP_S4_L is always 3V, even before triggering SMC_ONOFF_L?
Then you don't need to simulate power button.
Just check voltage on all big coils.
Also check ALL_SYS_PWRGD level.
