A1466 820-00165-A no power

Hi,

I have an A1466 820-00165-A with no power.

It has green light, but it only puls 0.30A from lab PSU.

PPBUS_G3H = stable 8.59V

PM_SLP_S3_L = 0V

ALL_SYS_PWRGD = 0V and no pulse.

PP5V_S4RS3 = 0V

No big coil seams to be shorted.

PP5V_S5 = 5V
PP5V_S0 = 0V and 0.457 on diode reading.

PP3V3_S5 = 3.3V
PP3V3_S0 = 0.057V and 0.382 on diode reading

SMC ByPass Mode didn't work.

Can you help?

Do you get 3V3_SUS?
If yes, trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse nat PM_PWRBTN_L.

Trigering SMC_ONOFF_L I get a drop pulse on PM_PWRBTN_L

Check for pulse at PM_SLP_S4_L, at same time.

PM_SLP_S4_L has 0V and no pulse when trigering SMC_ONOFF_L

Check PM_BATLOW_L, SMC_ADAPTER_EN, PM_DSW_PWRGD, PCH_DSWVRMEN and the 4 PCH's RTC signals.

PM_BATLOW_L = 3.349V

SMC_ADAPTER_EN = 3.414V

PM_DSW_PWRGD = 3.414V

PCH_DSWVRMEN = 3.256V

PCH RTC Signals:
PCH_INTRUDER_L = 3.083V
PCH_INTVRMEN = 3.257V
PCH_SRTCRST_L = 3.346V
RTC_RESET_L = 3.346V

Looks like bad PCH.
Try heating with quality flux.
