Hi.

I have an A1466 820-00165-A with no power. I have green light on charger but no fan spin, and only puls 0.2A from lab PSU.

R8165 was burnt and ALL_SYS_PWRGD pad was gone, and I've jumped it to pin 4 of Q8150.

PPBUS_G3H = 8.59V
PP3V42_G3H = 3.4V

SMC_RESET_L = 3.3V

PP5V_S5 = 5V
PP5V_S0 = 0V

PP3V3_S5 = 0V

ALL_SYS_PWRGD = 0V

CAn you help?

3V3_S5/SUS are both with 0V

* I've made a mistake with the board model. The correct board model is 820-3437

L7560 diode reading = 0.002

Pad 2 (PP3V3_S5_REG_R) = 0 0.001
Pad 1 (P3V3_S5_REG_L) = 0.441

Can I inject 1V on PP3V3_S5_REG_R?

Nothing gets hot, even increasing until 3V and consuming 1.8A.

I've removed L7560, C7593, C7592, C7590 and C7572 but PP3V3_S5_REG_R remains shorted (0.002 diode reading), and nothing gets hot even so.

Hi.

No, it's set to 5A. It reaches around 1.8A, with 3V, but I can't see nothing hot. Can it be an internal board layer (not sure if this makes any sense)?

You can go up to 4V.
Be sure to use powerfull cables.
You want to heat something on the MLB, not the cables.

Remove heatsink and use IR camera.
