A1502 820-3476 not charging, later no battery detected

The computer stopped charging properly after I start using Oracle Virtual Box with heavy configuration, I guess something somewhere overheated. Initially the problem was that the battery was not charging even though the mac works fine using the charger only, without the battery. Since the status of the battery was "replace soon", I purchased a new one. The new one was not charging as well, so I guess the problem is in the board. I took the mac to a "friend" who works with iphones only, but he said he "could handle this problem", well he didn't, and worse, after I pick it up and turn it on it was not even recognising the battery anymore and the battery status is not in the menu bar anymore (If I check the box to show it it unchecks itself). He must've added another problem trying to fix the problem, since he was nervous when he handed it back and didn't charge anything. I know some basics electronics and have a multimeter so I would like to understand what is causing this. Could you please point me to possible faulty components that could cause this (e.g check R7005 and so on)? Many thanks.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

If new battery didn't work from the beggining, should still have a charge on it.
So post first exact voltage at F7140 on battery alone, no charger.
If nothing, check at pins 10-12/J7050 too.
Also post voltage and diode mode to ground at pins 13 & 14.
Be sure R7050 is good.

Thanks for your reply. The battery came with 50% charge and it worked without the charger, the only problem was that it wasn't charging. Since the store who sold me the battery ask me to send it back, I sent it to them a few days ago. But I doubt it was a faulty one.

R7050 looks good when tested with multimeter on diode mode.

I don't know how can you test 10K resistor in diode mode.
However it is good, if the machine worked on battery alone.

I guess I was measuring something else, I'm sorry.
I measured R7050 and got 9.99kohm, so I guess it's working fine.
Readings J7050:
pin 10 - 0L
pin 12 - 0L
pin 13 - 500
pin 14 - 655
What would be the next components to check, if the problem was indeed not the battery?

"pin 13 - 500
pin 14 - 655"
Very big difference; I hope you checked both with red probe at ground.

Seems to have a problem on SCL line.
Remove D7050 (if present) and check again the value.
Next only remains U7100 and SMC connected there.
Sometime the battery connector fails too...

yes, I've checked both with red at ground.
Is there a way of checking without having to physically remove D7050? Like blocking it somehow? I apologize if this is a dumb question. I used the new battery without the charger, if the connector was faulty would that be possible?
By the way, is there any reference sheet online with correct reference values for measures (in diode mode)? Thanks.
