A1706 SSD issue after a drink

Hi, I have an A1706 that has been given a little drink at the side of the keyboard right where the SSD chip is.

Turns on but doesn?t see the SSD

I took the board out and cleaned the small amount of crap near the SSD.

Put the board back in and checked it.
Now it sees the SSD, boots and runs perfectly... until you take the charger out.
With the charger is in, it sees the SSD, if it?s running on the battery only, it doesn?t see it.

Any ideas?

I?m not with the Mac right now and haven?t got a schematic, so I haven?t got voltages just yet.
just wondered if anyone had seen this type of fault before as it seems very likely given the position of the SSD.

Im assuming there?s separate power feeds to the SSD depending on charger or battery.

All the power rails come from the same PPBUS_G3H, or 3V3/5V rails; which are the same on battery, or charger mode.
Your issue should be related with some specific signal.
Take the board out and post the 820-xxxx code.

Thanks for the reply 2informaticos. It?s an 820-00923-A unfortunately as I believe that?s the first of no schematic territory :(

Looking at the area again.. it looks like a capacitor is half dead on one side.

Check if 00239 schematic helps.
Compare diode mode readings between all the cap filters of CD3215 chips.
You may need to change the cap and the chip in that corroded area.
