Seems serious overheating, all battery cells boughed up.

PCH decapped
1729312178606.png

Tried Apple Migration/data transfer kit and cant detect the SSD neither in Disk Utility nor on boot via the kit.

Short on the PP3V3_S5 side, but with removed lifeboat PP3V3_S5_POLARIS reads 0.75Vdc

All point on the SSD side on the lifeboat reads reasonable values apart than PCIE_CLK100M_SSD_LB_P and N, which are dead short.

R8600/1 doesnt show any burn signs.

This is a data recovery case. Any pointers?

"PCIE_CLK100M_SSD_LB_P and N, which are dead short"
Do you mean pure short (0 ohm), or just 50 ohm (as expected)?

Do you get all correct voltages on SSD with recovery tool connected (including page 78)?

Appologies, you are right. Its 50Ohm for both.

I am missing PP3V3_S5_POLARIS when the kit is connected? Both with USBc and power adapter into it connected. Wouldn't this be fed from the data kit when lifeboat connector is removed?

PP1V8_SSD_DRAM = 0V

Shall I keep measuring the rest?

Recovery tool must deliver all power rails required by SSD; as should come from MLB.

PP1V8_SSD_DRAM is generated by U9310.

This is my first time using the data transfer kit. Some behaviour which i wasn't expecting
PP3V3_S5_POLARIS from the data kit comes only when its connected to power and USBc at the same time. Also we need to make sure it is recognised under Thunderbolt devices in System Report as apparently not all usbcs on my mac recognises it, although they work with DFU tool.
System Report screen is not refreshing periodically so it needs to be closed and opened again to fetch system data.

If mac screen goes to sleep data tool stops the voltage out too and needs to be disconnected and reconnected from USBc port.

SSD NAND Voltages I get are:
PP3V3_S5_POLARIS - 3.35V
SSD_PWR_LB_EN - 3.28V
P3V3_SSD_NAND - 3.23V
PPV1V8_SSD_FMC - 1.84V
PP12V_SSD_VPP - 12V
SSD_FVREF0 - 0.63V

Page 78 voltages are:
PP1V8_SSD_DRAM = 1.80V
PP1V2_SSD_DRAM =1.25V
PP1V0_SSD_CORE =1.04V
PP3V3_SSD_LIM = 3.27V
PP1V0_SSD_CORE_L12 = 1.02V
PP1V1_SSD_PCIE = 1.10V
PP1V8_SSD_DRAM_L12 = 1.80V
