Hi,

I have an A2338 820-02020-11 that only has 5V on ampmeter, it is recognized in DFU, but it gives an error when restoring in DFU mode:
"Gave up waiting for device to transition from DFU state to DFU state. [com.apple.MobileDevice.MobileRestore – 0xFCA (4042)]"

Can you help?

Hi,

Client says that it stoped working overnight, and It has no signs of oxidation nither of liquid contact.

It puls 0A (didn't know that it needed to take power before DFU). However, now, one of the ports puls 19.8V from ampmeter (sometimes it puls 5V and 0.40A on that same port), and 5V and 0A (always) on the other port.

Not sure what this means, but when conecting power cable to the UF500 port, FF201 stays at 0V, but CF501 keeps with 5V.

When conecting to the UF400 port, both (CF401 and FF200) stays at 5V.

Both fuses are ok, and both have 5V when using UF400 port.

Can it be a bad UF500? If yes, how can I be sure?

If USB-C ports have different behavior, then you have problems in USB-C area.
You can compare diode mode readings around CD3217 chips.
