A2338 820-02020 no loudspeakers

Hi.

I have an A2338 820-02020 without sound on the loudspeakers.

There is no sound from the internal speakers. However, there is sound when connected to headphones.

The customer indicates that he have already took the equipment to another repair company, but they were unable to understand the origin of the problem.

JR800/50 have all diode readings OK

JR900 disconected but same result.

Can you help?

Hi,

The customer said the speakers stopped working overnight.

This model dosen't have an audio board I think. By audio board, do you mean the Audio Jack Flex Cable? If so, I haven't replaced it, because even with the cable disconnected, there's still no sound, and with the cable connected I get sound if I use headphones (but not through the speakers).

Shall I replace it?

The audio jack has some contacts which decide to switch between speakers and headphones.
Your problem may there.

I've just tested the new audio Cable, but got the same result.

No sound on loudspeakers.

You should test known good audio jack also.

Yes, I've tested it. The flex already came with the jack. It's only one element.

Check AUDIO_JACK_TIP/RING_SNS levels when connect/disconnect headphones.
