A2992 (820-02918-A) DFU Restore Is Failing(?)

A2992 DFU Restore, I'm struggling to parse this log:

It will "boot" with 20V, 12.04v on PPBUS normally. If i enter DFU, PPBUS drops to 4.4V then ramps to 8.5V, 10.3, 12.3, then drops back to 12.04V and "boots" without ever appearing to host as a DFU device. If I manually inject 12.3V, it will appear as a DFU device but hangs on "Preparing Mac for Restore..." and eventually gives up as seen in the log. Genuinely no idea how to interpret this
