Air 820-01521 with DFU Restore error

This Air board came from a machine with a bad battery. Trackpad clicks but nothing else happens. It enters DFU mode willingly. Restore ends with the error "The system cannot be restored on this device", see below.

Does the "Missing data volume" mean the SSD is not recognized or the T2 is bad?

Probably SSD issue.
However, not sure if even Apple has a clear description for DFU errors...
