anyone having issues with A1706/A1708 screens and the missing ALS?

Like the title says: all displays I order in for the A1706/A1708 have missing Ambient Light Sensors.. Causes no keyboard backlight. Does anyone know of the reason, and maybe also a workaround, like permanently enabling the keyboard backlight?
