Hi guys,

I have Apple MacBook Air A2337. The MacBook turns on normal. You can hear the chime. Then it shows exclamation mark on the screen and writes down below support.apple.com/mac/restore. Does it mean that SSD is dead? I attached photo. Please advise, Thank you

We were able to enter DFU mode and will try to revive the the MacBook, if that does not work what would be the next step?

As we were trying to revive the MacBook a pop-up told us a system update is required, how do we proceed and and what option do we choose?

Ask the client for his Apple account data.
I think an option about using old macOS password should be present also.

The laptop says now it has "Failed to create activation request."

What could be the issue and how to approach it or get around it?

Try new installation and post a picture of the activation screen.

The machine may need to be deleted from Apple account, in order to disable activation required message.
