This machine experienced a short on the keyboard backlight connector which sent it into a boot loop. The backlight is now unplugged and the daughter board was replaced, but the boot loop remains. I ran a DFU Restore, which completed successfully.
When the internal display is disconnected, the machine proceeds with normal startup on an external monitor. Something was affected by the keyboard backlight short that now keeps the machine from starting up. I removed the backlight controller UP800, which allowed the machine to start up (sans backlight, obviously). I then replaced UP800 but the boot loop returned.
How can I troubleshoot what is causing the boot loop whenever UP800 is active?
