Greetings to all, my name is Matteo .... I'm trying to learn something new about repairing these Macbooks. In question I have this model A1466 with pcb 820-00165-A, the device when connected to the power supply emits green and then orange light (even if the battery is disconnected), the fan runs but does not emit an image, nor back-up to the monitor. I tried to connect it to an external monitor by disconnecting the internal monitor, but with no results.
I checked all the voltages named Power Aliases on page 62 of the schematic, and I don't have the voltage on this line PPHV_S0SW_LCDBKLT.....but the initial "BOING" sound not heard.
sorry for my english but i used a translator, do you have any help or ideas regarding my problem?

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Since 2013, MacBooks will automatically get amber light on Magsafe; even without battery connected.
It will switch back to green only when battery is fully charged.

Any history available for this board failure?

If you get VCORE, then check voltage at pins 7 & 3 of U1950.
Also check PLT_RESET_L level.

Thanks for reply,
on pin 7 and pin 3 of U1950 have 3.42V
PLT_RESET_L have 3.33V on R2071

About the history of this device not have nothing, costumer give me classic reply....yesterday working good and today nothing. I not find corrosion and pcb look good condition

What about pin 4/U2071?

Check all SPI Bus Series Termination resistors and their traces (page 46).
Also inspect U6101 solders and traces.
Just in case, try known good BIOS; should be available on the forum.

For a good know bios, find on the forum?

Hi, thank you again for your support and clarifications, I reprogrammed the bios with RT809H programmer, but the device remains with the same problem.
I also checked the resistance values on page 46 of the diagram as you suggested, everything seems ok .... but for the sake of scruple I will do a further check
