Can SMC's be used on different models from same year?

The stack of boards got too high so I'm finally ending my boycott of SMC replacements and I'm trying to figure out if an SMC from an 820-3476 can be used for an 820-3536 or vice-versa. Or an 820-3787 for an 820-3662. I'm assuming the RAM amount doesn't matter, but I'm guessing the SMC for DG would be different than the IG?
