can the wrong screen damage a logic board?

had an a2251 830-01949 with a cracked screen and replaced it with a new screen purchased from amazon. the new screen is being sold as compatible with multiple models. It never showed an image but i did the mouse test and the optical mouse registered and sometimes the caplock key worked but no image/backlight. the logic board was replaced and the new screen would only light up once it got to the login screen. gave it back to the owner and it came back shortly after with no image and/or backlight so i replaced the new screen with another new screen but this time there was no image and/or backlight at all. Should i buy a used/compatible screen instead? could the board have been damaged by an incompatible display?

You can fry the CPU if connect LCD assembly from Intel model to Mx (Apple silicone CPU) boards.
Not sure what happens in opposite case.

I recommend to test with the first screen, which gave image in macOS at least.
