today i found the same thing, only this time it kinda scared me a bit off thats why i wanted to share it.

my wife is in the hospital atm hoping to give birth to my daughter in the next 3 days.

now getting alot of calls, and alot of mails, now this was the mail i recieved

congrats about your daughter ! cellphone business is crazy bad people want everything now , and you profit like 30 bucks , and deal with a lot of cosmetic problems because their budget is short.

I belive people don't think the repair of cellphone worth that much because almost everyone get it on contract so when they get it they put down 0 usd or 200 usd , everything else they pay on payments , with the service , so I guess on customers brain 200 is a lot since they get the phone with no more than that cash or free with the contract , also insurance is about same price , I notice the best repairs where we can profit more is when phone don't power on anymore , people easy pay 100 bucks for old phones like 5s to bring them back , and I charge a couple of times 200 to bring back and iphone to working order just by removing a capacitor , or cleaning the board under microscope. and that was pretty much all profit.

Ill share a secret

The only way to make instant repair a success is to have screens premade and ready to go. Whether you buy them or refurbish them in house.

If you want to refurbish cell phone screens youll need to spend some money. I cant say that if i was buying that equipmemt today and faced with the same margins i would be inclined to do so. All in all i have about 25k invested into refurb equipment for cellphone industry.

If i could go back in time i would probably buy a few different items as some work well and others dont.

Lastly my system is still not perfect and could use a few upgrades. Whether i will, or not is still to be determined. Is investing even another 5k worth it, not sure with the trend for stronger glass and more water resistance. Without a aftermarket source for truely high quality tempered glass that competes with gorilla glass, it feels like customer demand for after market screen repair will soon deminish. Until then, i got to make my equipmemt earn its weight.

For new starters, my recommemdation is to find a strong supplier with cheap next day delivery or invest in pre-assembled screens. Most devices you can swap the screen in under 30 minutes. I charge extra for this service. "Need it now, pay a premium" is pretty much what i say. That has removed a lot of the headaches in this biz.
Except the one of dwindling margins.

Lastly, in regards to margins. We all do a lot of bitching about not getting paid what we're worth. I do it every day, but this is kind of how the world works. You make money, competitors get jealous/hungry and joins-in/cut-prices/etc; wash, rinse, repeat. I have yet to find an industry that doesnt work this way, so we have to adapt. Find new areas to make the profits you need and then hire someone to do the shitty work that will cost you less than revenue that work generates throughout the day. At the end of the day, that is your added profit and not your only profit. Highly qualified employees are no longer who you want to repair screens, its become a McDonalds style position. Highly qualified employees need to be focused on B2B, cctv, server, !board repair!.
