Hi,

I am working on a MacBook Pro A2289.

The MacBook powers on 20v / AMPS go up but return to 0 shortly after the chime.

The screen stays black.

I can get HDMI output. I tried to boot using an external drive, but the problem persists.

If left, the MacBook will keep restarting.

I tried a different screen.

Any ideas where to start looking?

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Any histoy available?
Change security settings accordingly, to allow USB boot.
Check if boots in safe mode.

You can try DFU revive.
If no important data, choose restore instead.

Thank you for your warm welcome and reply.

I tried an external drive, but the problem is the same.

As soon as it gets to the apple logo, it will power down and restart.

I can view the images on the external monitor but nothing on the internal display.

The display was changed around 1 month ago. The logic board looks clean and hasn't been worked on before.
