Donor Boards

I see a lot of people grabbing parts off donor boards, are these something that's just collected over years or where can a person purchase some? Just by old laptops or can one just get boards someplace? I see aliexpress but anyplace else?

Cheapest is from China via eBay/Ali/etc. You can get most models for <$20.00/each that way. Best way is of course accumulation from previous duds/no-fix boards, etc.
