How to approach heat gunned crap

Serious question, if you get in a Mac that the CPU/GPU/PCH was visibly destroyed by an idiot with a heat gun, what do you guys do/charge? I’m thinking 100 minimum diag fee.

Charge a previous repair attempt fee plus return shipping. People need to learn.

How much do you think is fair? Time is money and I don’t wanna have my time wasted

I charge $35 for previous repair attempts + $30 for FedEx Return shipping but I even think that is cheap. Do whatever works for your area. For example, I can't charge NYC prices here because I would get nothing. 30-70 should be fair in my opinion plus shipping

Honestly for me its not worth the bad reviews, just pull the lid and if it looks fucked just don't touch it and ask the customer to come pick it up.

Especially the heat gunned CPU/GPU's, if you see the edge bonding visibly molten you know its going to be fucked no matter how hard you try

Gotcha most of our stuff comes straight from stores tho, so it makes me wonder if the stores do it when they come in
