Hp g6 no mouse

Ok so I have checked the diode mode on 2 diffirent hp g6 quanta r53 with a different multimeter, talk about trolled...
On mine
TPCLK 0.758
TPDATA 0.758
On the customers
TPCLK 0.760
TPDATA 0.760
Sorry about that.

I've also noticed on one of the touthpads there is a short to ground on what goes to pins 3,6,7
on the other touchpad ground is only on pins 6,7

But I tried both touch pads.

Update.
I found the problem with the touch pad pin that was short to ground.
there is a cap ( C2 ) that turned into a wire.

I can not find the value for it, do you have any idea how I can find the value to replace it.

or is it a cap that can be left off?

It's on the touch pad it self, doesnt seem to be on the schematics I have.

Thanks

Tries, didnt work.
but there is a resistor near it, I'm wondering if it went with the cap.

Any idea where I can find a schamatics for the track pad?

Good news.
I checked the touch pad again and found a few pins that got slightly bent from been pushed in and out so many times

I fixed them up and now it is working without that capacitor!

Will this cause damage to the computer if I continue to use it like it is ?

You cannot damage it working without that small cap.
It should be some kind of EMI filter...
Test it and see if no issue appears on touchpad sensitivity.

Just an update.
I got both laptops working, thank you very much for taking time to help me work out the problem and a solution.

I have also been able to repair other laptops using diode mode.
didnt realise how helpful it is.

Thanks
