imac 21.5" late 2012 slow from shrapnel

runs slow after lady cut the stand down and got metal shavings all over the place. i cleaned all the shavings out and didn't see anything wrong per say but i didn't at board that close like under a scope. took me a while to figure out, but ASD gives me CPU proximity TCOp temp sensor error. error SMC IO failed.
is that a thermistor on the logicboard? or now that i'm thinking about it maybe flying shrapnel damaged the smc line somewhere?
finishing running asd now, everything else looks fine

looks like there's only 3 choices, a cap the thermistor, and smc
Q5512 and C5512

no physical damage I can see
maybe a shard touched and shorted the cap?

can't seem to find that cap on any laptop board donors, so will have to order from digikey i guess
thermistor on some retina boards

you think it worth trying to replace those two parts or no?

Is this the only error ASD gives or are there more? Make sure to continue on error. I doubt Q5512/C5512 is dead, U5500 is a better suspect or still shavings around there. Give the board a soak in the bath tub and blow it dry with compressed air and throw it in the oven to dry it out.

Clean up around U5500/Q5512 and replace if still an issue.
