but when you connect the to io board and j9500 connector that same connector gets hot a lighten bolt appears and the display screen and the computer shuts off .
So PP3V3_S0 goes down only if both terminals of flex connected?
I asked this before and understood voltage disappears even if only flex connected on the main board.
If voltage disappears only if flex is completely connected on both sides, main and IO board, we wasted some time here.
Please explain yourself correctly...
Check if other flex terminal is OK; on I/O board and flex itself.
Don't power the machine once you see 3V3 line is shorted; no need power to find the culprit.
yes that is what strange I replace the flex and io board and j9500 connector and the same issue. I did see some water on the board but the board works without both connector connected just wont charge the battery
Flex must be connected to charge battery.
SMC requires to "talk" with 1-wire memory from charger.
Connect flex and I/O board, then disconnect any other cable drom I/O board (apart of main flex).
Check if 3V3_S0 still has low value or short to ground.
A bad charger cannot make short there.
In the first day I told you check for short on pin 9.
That suppose measuring on diode mode, or 200 ohm scale; not power up and see if voltage drop.
"Don't power the machine once you see 3V3 line is shorted; no need power to find the culprit."
I suppose you didn't understand my request.
This was the mistake; you didn't have a short ever.
You've seen voltage drop and assumed there is short.
All my replies from then based in short pin to ground!!!
And you wasted time to repair a machine which had fast solution in fact...
I also wrong understood you too.
Please explain correctly what you have in a board repair.
If not, we can "help" you to lose more time.
please explain what I said wrong and not correctly [h=1]mac book air with green light and amber light after but wont turn on[/h] why you post in emotionally
I asked for a continuity test to ground in that particular line.
You assumed short because voltage dropped to zero.
And me assumed that you measured diode scale, for a really short.
The thing is that you could have the machine repaired much faster, if this didn't happen.
Both understood wrong each other, no more history...
