Macbook A1466 - No Power. No Magsafe

PPDCIN 0V

DC Power Supply started beeping when connecting the charger.

Removed the Fuse.
PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG diode mode reading is .145.
Removed R7150.

Short remains at PPVBAT

Injected 1V.

Q7130 getting mildly hot on the IR Camera.

Replaced Q7130 and R7150.

All readings are fine.

But still no voltage at PPBUS. No Magsafe Light.

PPDCIN is now 0.5V.

Using lab PSU (or fake charger) should avoid input leakage issue.
Compare diode mode readings on DCIN lines with good board.
Check Q7180 for short between its pins.

Even on PSU the issue persists.

PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR is shorted.

Injected 1V.

C7130 was getting hot.
Short Removed.
Now i get light and PPBUS is 2V.

i start checking around.
PPDCIN_G3H is short again.
PPBUS_G3h is also shorted

Replaced Q7130 again. No More shorts.

But the issue still persists.

Possibly bad solders/traces at U7100.
Also check/replace C7125.

Reflowed U7100. PPBUS now at 4V both sides. Getting Magsafe Light.
Went ahead and replaced U7100.
PPBUS dropped to 2V both side.

Replaced C7125 as well.

Keep F7140 removed and post U7100 basic voltages: 1, 2, 3, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 27.

Q7130 was heating. PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR is short again.

Why is this happening.

Replaced the Q7130 again.

Its again heating.

Diode Mode Readings

CHGR_UGATE is 1.1

Rest all are okay.

Q7130 can burn if C7125 is bad/missing, or bad solders between U7100 and Q7130 Gates.

C7125 Resistance Across Pins 300k Ohms and increasing.

What do you mean by bad solder between Gates?

Removed Q7130

Voltages
CHGR_UGATE is 4.5V
PPDCIN_CHGR IS 14.5V
CHGR_PHASE 3.3V
CHGR_LGATE 0.05V

is there a leakage at CHGR_UGATE?

I didn't said that.
I meant between its Gate pins and U7100.
In fact the danger comes from UGATE connection.

Measuring C7125 pins to ground doesn't help.
Is better to change it and assure good solders on both sides of its traces.
A problem with this capacitor, also leads to burnt Q7130.

Don't bother to check any voltage without Q7130; time wasting...

Have replaced C7125. All Good Connection.

UGATE Pin connection to U7100 and Q7130 is good - verified.

What should i do?

Replace U7100 and Q7130, at same time; test again.
BTW, keep F7140 removed; just check C7140 voltage.

Hi,
I performed a MacOS restore and the wifi is gone now.
No wifi option while setting up.
No Wifi Option in the recovery menu.

Found PP3v3_WLAN shorted.
Diode mode to ground is .097

Yes. It was the glass ic at fault.
I don't remember the number. U3550 i guess.
