there was some moisture under the SMC. I replaced the SMC. Fan always high. no MagSafe light. no battery being detected in settings.
I assumed smh was from a different model. so I went ahead and flashed it as well. still the same.
SYS_DETECT_L on diode mode readings is 2.7.

As soon as I plug in the battery - the fan starts to spin high

What is SYS_DETECT_L voltage, with battery connected?
Any error pops up starting in diagnostic mode?

I forgot to mention that the machine turns on and boots into the OS. Doesn't detect battery but runs on battery. - after replacing the SMC.
PP3v42 is 3.4V
PPBUS is 8.2V


with Battery connected SYS_DETECT_L is 0.2V
Diagnostics Error -
PFM001 SMC
NDC001 Camera ( But Camera Works)
VDH002 and VDH001 - (Maybee because bootcamp windows has crashed)

Test it disconnecting camera; bad ALS can cause high fan speed.

Did that. I am suspecting that it is a SMC issue. facing similar issue with 2 devices right now. Maybe this lot of SMC is faulty?

Tried known good LIO board/flex?

You should get 8.5V aprox at PPBUS_G3H, without battery connected.
