Hello,

Earlier we had received a MacBook Air 2017 dead upon arrival as a result of liquid damage, after initial service it had returned to a normal working state and returned to the customer.

Again the same Mac have returned recently because the keyboard wasn't functioning or responding to the correct keys, that we replaced the keyboard for (Only keyboard) and during the process of keyboard replacement... the battery connector broke that we replaced too... After which the fan panic begun (Full Speed, Full Noise), and we are uncertain what triggered the fan panic.

While furthur diagnosing the Mac, we swapped the Mac logic board into another MacBook Air 2017, and the fan continues... We also have inspected the board, under a microscope and thermal cam and nothing looks unusual not overheats.

O Mac experts, I seek your advice...

God bless,
Malik.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

The machine boots to macOS now?
Trackpad, webcam and LIO board have been connected when you test the board into other shell?

Start in diagnostic mode and see what error pops up.

Your welcome is well appreciated.

Yes, it is booting and running as usual, expect for the fan panic.

Yes, all connected while testing using another shell that is basically another Mac.

Mac Diagnosis attached.

Seems to have ALS related problem.
Test if keyboard and LCD backlight react, pointing flaslight on the camera.

Check voltage and diode mode to ground on SMBUS_SMC_1_S0_SCL/SDA lines.
Be sure R5360/1 are both good; check continuity until J4002.

Keyboard and LCD backlight doesn't react to pointed flashlight at camera.

There is no continuity from R5360/1 until J4002.

There is a pair of test points, near the camera connector; on the opposite side of MLB.
Check continuity from them to R5360/61 and J4002.
Run tiny wire where is needed.

Mentioned test points are in the opposite side of J4002.
In my case one trace from R5360 had no continuity with corresponding test point.
Was more easy for me to run the wire on the same side of MLB.

If you wired the traces correctly, test if machine works.
