Hello guys, I am working on a Macbook air 2017 Logic board 820-00165 with 1.8Ghz cpu.

The board came with Vcore shorted. I decided to replaced the CPU (cpu taken from other board) and the board boot, see wifi, but will not boot into MacOS or boot in Recovery. It start to load then turn off.

However, The laptop boot up fine in Ubuntu and works nicely. I can run and complete Ubuntu on the local disk.

I decided to replaced the CPU again (taken from donors board) and same problem :)

I have also replaced CPU from a 820-00840 and it has same problem.

It seems apple don't want us to replaced CPU.

I have no ideas what the problem now.

Both laptop work very well with Ubuntu.

Regarding 840-00840-A that I mentioned in my first post.

After CPU replacement, I flash this attached bios and it will get stuck on apple progress bar. If I boot in safe mode. It boot completely.

When I login on MacOS. I get this message about IGPU. See attached

Maybe graphic is not working correctly. I have no ideas

Even with clean ME region it does same.
