Interesting. My photos of the board when I first pulled it out of the laptop has no R7789 in place.

I just checked the top pad

LCDBKLT_EN_DIV_L - 8.32

Maybe previous owner knocked it off, which is why I was able to buy it on eBay cheaply.

I will check my donor board and replace.

All set thank-you so much for all the help 2informaticos!. It was the missing resistor R7789. I have screen image.

This has definitely taught me to look over the board and match things up with my boardview app.

This forum is by far the best help out there.
