Hello,

I have been battling an issue with this macbook where the mic, and speaker do not work and they are greyed out in the OS. The OS is on the latest version and I have tried replacing the speakers. Any advice?
Thanks!

Phil

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Check if audio codec is recognized in System report.

Any history fault available?
Inspect for corrosion around U6200/300, both board sides.

Thank You! There is nothing listed under "audio" in system report. I will pull the board again and inspect for any corrosion.

Thanks!

Could you point me in the direction where those chips might be located?

Use the boardview.
Let us know if you cannot get it from Internet.

BTW, do NOT quote an entire post visible few centimeters above.

HI,

Sorry about quoting each time. Ok...so there is absolutely no corrosion anywhere on the board. I inspected everything even under the microscope. Do you guys sell the chip or is this something you guys can fix?

Thanks,
Phil

Check first the power rails for mentioned chips.
Compare HDA_RST_L level with good board.
Inspect R6203 and R6304/06.

I have this same board and issue.
u6200 and u 6300 have been replaced to rule out and all hda data lines seem ok.
Should i start a new thread or continue here?
